ALWAYS wash your hands first when dealing with your tattoo. Keep your hands off your healing tattoo. NO TOUCHING!!
Saniderm is a transparent, breathable, water resistant, hypoallergenic adhesive bandage. This sticker helps shield your new ink from germs that could potentially harm your fresh tattoo.
Typically, your first sheet of Saniderm will be applied for you by the Artist at the end of your appointment. This bandage should be worn for the first 24-48 hours.•
Over this time period your wrap will fill with blood and ink. Do not be alarmed, this is imperative to keeping your tattoo from drying out and allowing it to heal its best.
• Removal of the Saniderm is best done in the shower. The humidity will assist in removing the adhesive. Gently pull the bandage back over itself in the direction of hair growth. Avoid pulling upwards.
•Thoroughly clean your tattoo after you’ve removed the bandage.
From here you have two options:
1. Revert to “Classic Healing” steps, antibacterial soap and fragrant free lotion.
2. Use a second sheet of Saniderm for the remainder of your healing period
•Wash your hands before applying your second sheet.
•Be sure to apply your second sheet of Saniderm to clean dry skin for best adhesion.
•Cut to size, allowing at least 1 inch of Saniderm to be in contact with undamaged skin.
•Peel offbacking to expose the adhesive.
•Apply over Tattoo from the center, using light pressure, with the skin in a neutral position
.•Try to apply similar to a screen protector with minimal air bubbles.
•Remove the plastic backing leaving only the Saniderm on the skin.
•This second sheet can be worn for the next 4-5 days.
•Ideally your Tattoo will be ready for UNSCENTED lotion after the removal of the second sheet
The most critical time to take care of your new tattoo is during the first 2 weeks & can take 3-4 weeks to fully heal.
